The German Research Foundation’s (DFG) review board elections for the 2024-2028 term of office
The DFG Review Board Elections for the 2024-2028 term of office took place from 23rd October to 20th November 2023.
During this period of time, post-doctoral researchers from Germany’s universities of applied sciences had the opportunity to elect the new members of the Review Board of the German Research Foundation (DFG). The DFG is the foremost funding organisation for the fields of science in Germany. Its review boards are consulted when decisions are made on research funding proposals submitted to the DFG. As such, the review boards are directly involved in the DFG’s funding policies and, as a result, have great influence on the organisation of the various funding formats.
Elective positions were established at 53 universities of applied sciences. Additionally, researchers were able to register with the DFG in order to support candidates from universities of applied sciences as individual voters and, in any case, to document through their vote that researchers from universities of applied sciences are actively involved in Germany’s “science system”.
